Summary:
The Medical Writer provides content for continuing medical education (CME)
activities including, print, online and live meetings as well as non-CME
publications such as peer-reviewed journals and direct-to-patient magazines.
You will interface with key thought leaders in the oncology community and
your work will make a direct impact in the dissemination of cutting-edge
information.

Functions include:
Research and evaluate current medical and scientific literature.
Develop content to meet internal customer requirements and requests
including but not limited to:
-Needs assessments for grant proposals;
-Educational objectives and agendas for CME meetings;
-Articles for newsletters and journals;
-Slide kits;
-CME documentation.

Work collaboratively with thought leaders, program chairs, consulting
faculty and supporters as necessary for content development.
Attend company and other relevant scientific meetings.
Review articles and slide sets submitted by faculty for scientific accuracy.
Meet established production timelines regularly and consistently.
Provide data necessary for departmental reporting activities including
regular status reports as established by Director.
Assist in training new Medical Writers as requested.

You are well qualified for this opportunity if you hold a Ph.D. in a
scientific discipline and, ideally, have 2 years of medical or scientific
writing experience.

Medical Device Design Engineer – Salt Lake City, UT

I am a recruiter assisting a specialty bio-pharmaceutical company to
identify and hire a Ophthalmic Medical Device Design Engineer for their Salt
Lake City, Utah headquarters. Here are the details:

The company is well on the way to being the world leader in ophthalmic drug
delivery using its proprietary topical sustained release formulations and
drug penetration enhancement methodologies. They are pioneering research in
ocular delivery to safely and non-invasively deliver therapeutics into the
eye for treating sight threatening diseases.

Responsibilities
We seek a highly skilled product development medical device engineer/project
manager with outstanding mechanical design and/or project management
capabilities. Qualified candidates will also have familiarity in protocol
development, testing, and design control processes.

The successful candidate will direct engineering design elements of company
projects which includes the development of a device for topical ophthalmic
applications. Applicants must have strong leadership and project management
capabilities. This position provides the opportunity to own product
development from concept to commercialization, including all aspects of
design, documentation.

Requirements
-BS in engineering (mechanical preferred) from a 4 year program.
-4+ years of medical device product development experience with special
consideration for ophthalmic device (e.g., contact lenses) or drug delivery
(e.g., technologies such as transdermal or transmucosal patches have similar
product requirement documentation) development experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in medical grade silicone, plastics,
polymeric (hydrogel) materials component design.
- 3D solid modeling & drafting experience (Pro-E, SolidWorks, etc.) a plus
(incumbent will work with an external engineering contractor and other
material suppliers and vendors).
- DFM & materials selection know-how; knowledge of various manufacturing
processes including injection molding, extrusion.
- Functional understanding of all aspects pertaining to the design,
development & commercialization of medical devices (disposable & reusable).
- Working knowledge and practical application of FDA QSR’s. design control
SOP’s, verification and validation testing.

Compensation is in the range of $60-85K annually, depending on experience.
